Latex allergy - any tips?

I have developed an allergy to latex or powder used in gloves.

Doctors appointment on Monday.

I work in Health care so any hints on things to avoid or anything that helps would be appreciated.

My employer has already supplied latex/powder free gloves.Latex allergy - any tips?
Just use the latex and powder free gloves , don't handle any other gloves , and ask anyone who examines you to do the same !Latex allergy - any tips?
If severe skin conditions like eczema and skin allergies already exist, the more that you need to be careful when handling your laundry. Fabric softeners and detergents can irritate any sensitive skin due to their chemical contents. Hence, what should be done is to first try one or two pieces of garments using the latex and see if you will develop any allergic reaction.

For the biological products that make your skin allergy worse, double rinse your garments prior to drying them. After which, switch into another brand or type of detergent.
you either have contact dermatitis which means a rash appears on contact with the allergen (the gloves) Your GP will refer you to a dermo

Or you have an allergy, you should get a blood test for this.

However, having this allergy myself Id like to sum up what you may not know.

an allergy is a immune system reaction to a substance which the body recognises as a threat and cells attach themselves to the invading ';threat'; and release histamine which causes an inflammatory response.

Allergies at their worst (anaphalaxis) produce symptoms like

Hives (nettle rash)

Swelling (edema) of lips, mouth, tongue all airways,

Anxiety

Vomiting

Severe stomach pains

Low blood pressure

unconsciousness

If you have this then an epipen( can be prescibed by a doctor) must be used. It is an auto injection in a case (like a diabetic kit). This injection is for emergancies and gives a dose of adrenaline (the hormone released in flight or fight situations) This causes the reversal of histimine.

Tell EVERONE about your allergy, your work place should be trained in first aid and using epipen. They shouldnt be using latex gloves now as so many people like you have this allergy. Insisnt that they use only latex free on you dept.
You need to INFORM THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE before you arrive or the moment you get there of your allergy.

Anaphalactic shock is nothing to joke around with. Your allergy can get worst. Do you have an Epi-pen? If not, get one and carry it with you at all times.
What happens when you use a condom, i dread to think, thats a horrible thing to be allergic to, anti histomine? or is that for hayfever, anyways, try all the drugs they supply for allergies and see what happens:)
Durex do condoms that dont have latex. Look around you will find them. Dont give the employer latex excuse Dude you meant condoms.
Don't touch latex???
saran wrap and a rubber band
