Playtex dropin latex nipples?

why do you have to boil them? I just boiled them and they changed to a lighter brown color, but not all the way, the base part of the nipple is a bit darker...does this mean I didnt boil them long enough?Playtex dropin latex nipples?
No you did it right the first time. I also boiled mine, and found that at first they were lighter and spotty, not uniform over the whole nipple. Eventually it will fade. Great choice with playtex drop ins, they really helped my baby with her gassiness.Playtex dropin latex nipples?
I just boiled mine once and they also turned a lighter brown on some parts and stayed darker on the others. But, they still lasted quite a while before I had to replace them! I'm not sure why you have to boil them, that's just what I was told to do. After the first time of boiling them, I just ran them through the dishwasher about once a week after that.
Yeah, they change color unevenly when you boil them. As long as you boiled for 5 minutes, you're good to go. At least you only have to do it when they're brand-new and you can wash by hand or in the dishwasher after.
I'm not sure why you just boil them once... But mine changed color too - but then after they dried, they went back to the normal color. I think you did fine.
I think you only have to sterilize them once then wash them with hot water after that. Ped said it is pointless to sterilize them everytime.
