Allergies to latex condoms?

I didn't make the connection until now but I think I may be allergic to latex condoms. Over the past year, whenever I had sex (using a latex condom) I got sore and itchy afterward. I got tested for various STD's and was completely clean, tried using treatment for a yeast infection but it kept happening. Now I'm thinking it must be the latex.





Are any of you allergic to these? What symptoms did you have that you were allergic and what other types of condoms are available?Allergies to latex condoms?

I am also allergic to latex condom. So are a lot of woman. I found out that Trojan Supra are very good. And they are latex free!
First Get your self tested for allergies if it is confirmed that you have the same thing then you can go with your consultant.

If you have an allergy to latex, then you will also be allergic to latex condoms. It's not that unusual.
ha ha i don't know anyone who wears condoms. condoms are for sailors and soldiers in 'nam whoa i am so wasted is it still 1971???
The guy can wear a polyurethane condom if you're interested in STD protection in addition to pregnancy protection. They're about 25-50% more expensive than latex but they let the guy feel more body heat from you. One disadvantage of polyurethane rubbers is that they are slightly less stretchy compared to latex.





Don't bother with the natural, lambskin ones. They're useless against STDs.





You might have an allergy to the spermicide too.
Yes, it is possible to be allergic to latex condoms. I thought I was to until we tried other methods. Found out that it wasn't the latex it was the spermicide.

Symptom could be anywhere from itchiness to major swelling, depending on how severe it is.

There are several brands of non-latex condoms on the market, from the same manufacturers who set the benchmark for latex ones' quality, like Trojan, Durex, and Lifestyle. They're at drug stores.
wow that stinks. Having sex is scary these days. Maybe if you keep using it you will build a tolerance to the latex. Just thinking out loud here.
i am also allergic to latex and my skin get really itchy but there this condom they sell but i don't recommended it if you have sex with someone you dint know might have hiv because it can go threw just google im sure you get a lot of pop ups
YOUR NOT ALLERGIC TO LATEX, OMFG TRY USING THEM ON CLEAN WOMEN, HMMMMMM im pretty sure every condom is made from latex............ sore and itchy you say? ,..... try crab cream, or better yet try not using a condom sex is so much better without them anyways
